The question

I am presently taking the 4 day bodybuilding course. My question is should you wait 48 hrs. between workouts, or can you do them on consecutive days?

Dan's answer

Dan Wirth, MA, CSCS

Hello, You can do your workouts on consecutive days as long as the workouts are training different muscle groups\! The 48 hour rule only applies if you are training the same muscle group. In the 4 Day Bodybuilding routine it is fine to train on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for example. This program will train the chest, shoulders, and triceps on workouts number 1 and number 3. Then, you will train legs, back and biceps on workouts number 2 and 4. As long as you aren't training the same muscle groups on back to back days you will be fine\! Thanks, Dan
