Question:

I just manually added Close Grip Chin Ups to my workout program. I put in 3 sets of 6 reps. This worked great and I love being able to make some custom adjustments to my program. But, I noticed that I had a red INOL value next to this exercise. It said it was 2.1. Is this correct and what is this?

Answer:

Hello and thanks for using WorkoutSmart.com. Quick question: Did you do any Performance Testing when you initially set up your workout? If you didn’t do any testing this is totally fine as we have an automatic input of “1 rep” for the Pullup Performance test in our system. However, this would be the reason when you put in 3 sets of 6 reps that it gave you such a high INOL value. Here is a link to an article we wrote on INOL values for our site:

Strength Training Like a Scientist with INOL Values in 2020

Another thing, since you actually put in the 3 sets of 6 reps for Close Grip Chin Ups on your workout, our system will log and track this and more importantly, recognize this as your new normal and future workouts will reflect this.

Any changes or adjustments you make to your program like adding exercises, or changing sets, reps and weights on strength training movements and even providing feedback like Too Easy or Too Hard will all be logged and tracked. Your performance levels will then be updated. We won’t change anything on the workouts you have already completed only for the workouts that are coming up. This way you can see the progress you have made over time!
